The Peanut Butter Factory Clip

I don't know anyone (including myself) who would have not had the craving for a peanut butter sandwich after watching this clip. I'm pretty sure it was all taking place inside a factory that made peanut butter and was narrated by a bunch of unseen kids. It was a very tempting clip. I remember the part where they showed the actual peanut butter mixing up inside of a large vat. Prompting all the kids at the same time to shout out, "PEANUT BUTTER"!!!! The last part of the clip showed the peanut butter being put into jars with some pretty catchy music to go along with it. A real treat for any peanut butter lover....mmmmmmmm!!!!

I think I know the one you're talking about, and, for the record it's NOT, I repeat NOT "It Takes a lot of Little Nuts (to Make a Jar of Peanut Butter)". I remember it because when you saw the jars being filled, the music went into kind of a carousel music motif. Interesting film to say the least!

SesameMike and fuzzygobo, as always, did a nice job of describing this one in the Sesame Street flims thread, posts 211 and 215 respectively:

Peanut Butter. The film begins with a farmer hand-pulling a lone peanut plant out of the ground. The kids say the peanuts have to be roasted first or they taste yucky. (Note: in my experience, raw peanuts are not that bad. I think the local Asian grocer sells them in shell) The film then shows the inside of a factory showing the process of making PB. My favorite line is where one kid says "The jars are on a merry-go-round!" We then saw an extended sequence of circular jar-filler machinery, with that 3/4-time carnival music (calliope?) playing as we watched the jars fill up with peanut butter.

I remember the peanut butter one also. We see a farmer pulling a few out of the ground, while there's harpsichord music in the background. A kid's voiceover does mention "The raw peanuts are horrible, my grandpa bought some". Then they go to the factory see the peanuts being pulled out of the shells (Kid voiceover: And now they'll get all ground up!)

Then some faster music plays, as the peanuts get shaken along a conveyor belt to remove any impurities, then they are heated and ground up.

Then we see a shot of the peanut butter in a vat being mixed, and reaching a creamy consistency. (Kid voiceover: PEANUT BUTTER!!!)

Next we see the peanut butter getting pumped into jars, lids screwed on and labels attached, and you're right. Here's where the calliope music in waltz time is played.

In the end, we see the finished jars, waiting to be sent out to a store near you, and you can hear the kids "doo, bee doo, bee doo bee doo". Frank Sinatra would've been proud!
