Does anyone have any idea why when the Muppet Show was on TNT, Nickelodeon, and Odysey, why was the beggining Theme from Season one, replaced with openings from later seasons. What is wrong with the original? Is it really that outdated??

Well, as I heard it from a Henson company archivist, they do that because Jim himself preferred the later version. The first season credits look kind of rough and low-budget. Since they always try to stay true to Jim's vision, the first season credits have been omitted ever since.
