Hey everyone, remember how from 1980-1993 Telly used to bother Oscar Constantly, and was down right obsessed with him? They Stopped doing this in Season 25 and Telly became best friends with Baby Bear. He is still with Oscar every now and then but not nearly as much. I remember in the 80's there was this segment called ASK OSCAR when Telly would Ask Oscar questions and annoy him. Why do you think they (the writers) phased out the old Telly and Oscar routine? :grouchy: :grouchy: :grouchy: :grouchy: :grouchy:

Perhaps they created Baby Bear to take Telly's attention away from Oscar? But then, I'm only guessing.

Actually, I think maybe the writers, or the producers, wanted Telly to have a best friend that he could get along with, and Baby Bear was just the one. Also, they probably wanted Baby Bear to be friends with someone who he could get along with, rather than that pesky Goldilocks, who always drove him crazy.

Hey you know what Ssetta? Iv'e alwways wondered exactly what it is Baby Bear and Telly had in common, well that was it. Only difference is Telly was the one who annoyed Oscar, and Goldilocks was the one who annoyed Baby Bear.

Yeah, I remember those old Telly and Oscar skits, especially "Ask Oscar" and "Sneak Peak Preview." I wish they'd bring those back.

Well, remember when Telly was the news reporter for "Monster on the Spot" sometimes? There was an episode from Season 31 where he and Baby Bear were the sportscasters for the Wide World of "X" games.

I really liked Telly better before when he admired Oscar so much. I thought that it was very funny because no matter how hard Oscar tried to keep Telly away, Telly always came back to talk to him. Telly was even a grouch-kateer. I think that Sesame workshop should re-develop that relationship again. They should keep the friendship between Telly and Baby Bear because it has grown so much, but bring back Telly's admiration of Oscar. :grouchy:

They do still ocasionally show Telly and Oscar together. Like the Season Finale from season 33, and the episode when Oscar wants to move the place of his Trashcan in season 34, they even used an old joke they used to do back in the 80's when Telly was more into Oscar. The trick he used to always play on Telly when he'd give him a can and snakes would come flying out, scarring telly to death.
