Top ten song lyrics that I used to mishear:
10. from The Muppet Show Theme: "It's time to put on make-up, it's time to dress up right..." as "It's time to put on 'acob, it's time to dress up lights..."
9. from Think Before You Cheat: "Took a Louisville Slugger to both headlights..." as "took a Louisville Slugger, they both had lice".
8. from It's All About the Penitums: I misheard "Hewlett Packard" as "human packers" (I also misheard "I make him do my tech support" as "I make him do my tax support").
7. from The Christmas Song: "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose..." as "Jack's not nipping on an open fire, Jack's not nipping at your nose..."
6. from "Jingle Bells, Batman Smells": "...and Joker got away" as "...and Joker took ballet" (though since I first heard it from a kid my age, it's possible they sang it the way I first heard it, maybe making the same mistake I made, or maybe they did it on purpose, or maybe both endings are 'right', depending on who sings the song).
5. from 1985: "way before Nirvanna" as "waiting for Nirvanna".
4. from The 12 Days of Christmas: "and a partridge in a pear tree" as "and a bag of Cocoa Crispies".
3. from Deck the Halls: "Don we now our gay apparel" as "now we play a game of barrel" (I also misheard the following line as this as well... and on the subject of this song, I misheard "hail the new ye, lads and ladettes" as "hail the noogie, lash and lashes" and later as "Hail the New Year, lash and lashes").
2. from Huffalumps and Woozles: "you'll find that they love it" as "you'll find that big nugget" (or maybe I heard it as "McNugget").
1. from We Wish to Welcome You to Munchkin Land: the "Lollipop Guild" as "the Lollipop Kids".
