It's a shame no one really gets Larry and his lot in the Stooges. Now that I think about it, the Stooges did have some subtly in their non-eye poke and head bonking gags that somehow elude most parodies. Sure, I find the cartoonish physical violence funny, but I really like their underrated wordplay and verbal humor. A great Stooge short has them doing both.

Billy West and the Farrley Bros are among the few that really understand Larry. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much material Larry was given in the 2012 movie. Incidentally, Billy was a consultant on the movie, and helped train both Sean Penn and Will Sasso.

This is true, and it's sad because there slapstick is what people remembers. They really did have some funny one liners and other dialogue.
