The Muppets Kitchen is up for a Webby Award!

I know this may sound silly, but maybe The Muppets Studio didn't really want Muppets Kitchen to win a Webby, due to the fact that they're busy directing most of their time, money and resources towards completing, promoting and releasing the new movie.

In addition, the Studio didn't even create any unique campaign-like videos to encourage people to vote for it or push for it to win like they did with "Ode to Joy" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" anyway.

Just a hunch.

Still, I wonder why NONE of the virals were nominated and a show that was by all counts uneven and unfocused (but still had some fun moments).

It's clear they are doing movie stuff now. Just... it didn't really pop up yet. it will, just... still... I wish they had some sort of production vlog.

Yeah, not really losing any sleep over the Kitchen bit getting nothing. It wasn't that great, and I'm surprised they didn't find a way to put the real deal hungry in it as her assistant.

I said it before... had we got the Swedish Chef as the assistant, we would have had a toned down, unfunny, lobotomized version of his act where he'd just keep handing the wrong utensils to Cat, and then repeating what she says and nodding his head and agreeing in mock Swedish. I still think the show should have ended with the Chef watching the show on his kitchen laptop and taking everything literally.

My problem is just how the thing played out. The only Muppety episode was the one with the giant sandwich disaster, and that was the last one. I liked the little inbetween segments, but overall, it felt uneven and unfocused. The run time held back anything potentially funny, they clearly needed to make more (it actually was starting to get better, then... pbblllt!). And if they were going for parody of really bad cooking shows with a do-nothing assistant that just comments on everything and engages in forced banter and unfunny jokes, they nailed it.... sadly, I don't think they were.... but really... if you ever watched one of those, at least you can appreciate it on that level.

Hey, guys! I was looking through the Sesame Workshop Facebook page and I found out, the Muppets (kind of) won an award. The Grover's Number Special app won the Webby People's Voice Award in the Games - Tablet & All Other Devices category! So, Muppet Kitchen didn't win, but Sesame brought home a prize! Hooray!
