The Muppets 70

Thanks for correcting me, it slipped my notice when I posted the Mupdate. Still have Clifford, Phil van Neuter, and hopefully Jim to complete the list, hopefully Jim as last on the day before my birthday.

With Newsie in the mix, we now have all Jim Henson Muppets (not counting the likeness of Jim himself, of course). He’s had four performers so far, the other three being Brian Henson, Steve Whitmire, and Eric Jacobson. I’ve yet to hear how the latter performs him - it’s the second time he took over a Jim Henson character (the first being Guy Smiley).

My remaining predictions are Waldo, ‘80s Robot, and Penny Waxman, and I think one of them is bound to be ruled out. Unless there’s proof of Miss Piggy being #0, I’m standing by my prediction of her being #70.

There was an image leak for Piggy's art, so in my eyes we only really have room for two more predictions, and I'm still banking on Annie Sue being one of them.

Her number is hard to read; unless this was an earlier version, she looks either 68 or 69.

In that case, #70 will go to someone else. Lately, I’ve been thinking they might introduce a brand new character. Not sure if that’s the case, though.

Finally able to log onto the internet after a week-long hiatus imposed by my PC against my own control. Entry #68 has been revealed, it's another surprise entry, Emily Bear better known as "Ma" Bear from MFC! We're getting closer and closer to the end of the line.

I should have known better than to take her off my predictions list. You know, Fozzie’s Ma also appeared in at least one episode of The Muppet Show long before MFC. You know what else? She sounds a bit like Pops. Kind of like how Fozzie sounds like Bert.

I think that’s all the Jerry Nelson/Matt Vogel characters who have been showcased. Time will tell who else is left in addition to Miss Piggy.

I bet you there will be a Muppets About Muppets video in which Fozzie talks about his mother. Also, I’ve noticed that even though Disney doesn’t have the rights to make A Muppet Family Christmas viewable, the Muppets’ social media accounts manage to make references to the special.

Okay people, the penultimate entry has been revealed, and it's another unexpected surprise as The Mutations are #69. That leaves us with just one last week and one last entry next Friday to conclude this character spotlight run. Will it be as most would think? Or will we get one last twist reveal? Tune in one last time to find out with the rest of us.

What a turn of events!

If we’re to believe that Piggy will be the last to take a spot, one thing appears glaringly certain: none of the other predictions we’ve had in the last couple of weeks will get recognition in a big way. Also, one Frank Oz/Eric Jacobson Muppet remains.

Aside from characters performed by Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson, Dave Goelz, Richard Hunt, Eren Ozker, Steve Whitmire, David Rudman, Brian Henson, Bill Barretta, Eric Jacobson, Matt Vogel, Peter Linz, Julianne Buescher, we had one Kevin Clash Muppet, one Bruce Lanoil Muppet, and a character voiced by Howie Mandel and Frank Welker (Cree Summer for the reboot). Let me know if I left out anyone else.
