All right. This is a big one. Not only do we have Hugh Fink, Scott Ganz, and Andrew Samson on the show (3 of the 4 writers of Letters to Santa)...but we have the fourth writer as well: Muppet legend Paul Williams!

Talking with all four of these gentlemen was such a thrill. We talked about the new special, of course, but also got into some other interesting topics. Remember all that talk of a Muppets election special that wound up not airing? Wondering what it was about? You'll hear it here. How did Emmet Otter come to be revived in a live stage show? It's an amazing story. It was so much fun talking with these guys, and putting it all together with scenes and songs from Letters to Santa seemed like a perfect combination.

There'll be a new MuppetCast episode next week, but I'll be out of town, so it will be a little different from the usual. I've never done this before (that I can remember...but then again, I'm getting old), but I thought it would be fun as an after-Christmas special to air an entire out-of-print Sesame album. One of my very favorites: 1975's "Merry Christmas from Sesame Street". There are some beautiful moments on the album, similar in some ways to "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street".

If you're in the US, you can watch Letters to Santa again on Hulu.com. This may work outside the country, but I can't confirm that.

Best wishes for a warm and happy holiday season! I hope you enjoy this episode of The MuppetCast. Let's discuss your thoughts below!

This was a great show! I really loved the idea they had for the electon show, and I think that it could have really stood the sounds of time. Paul Willams is amazing, how in the world he can still sing Rainbow Connection after all these years and all the other songs as well means a lot. His story about going from the Muppet Show to Emit Otter to the Muppet Movie was outstanding! Thank you Steve for another great show!

Thanks Dwayne! I'm listening back over the show right now. You can tell I didn't use a pop shield, can't you...hehe...well, I can anyway. A few pops in the microphone on a hard "P" are forgivable though. I forgive me.

I flat refuse to listen until I see the special (haven't seen LtS yet, as I was off the grid the night this aired). Scared of spoiling the special.

Really, really great show this week, Steve! Loved the insider comments from Hugh, Scott, and Andrew! Great stuff! Paul Williams blew me away, though! Can't wait till he comes back to talk more!

Loved everybit of it. Glad to have got some inside stuff from the writers and to hear what Paul had to say about all the songs and the Emmett Otter's Jug Band Christmas live stage show. Awsome work Steve. Thanks again and Merry Christmas to you and your family and freinds.
