Hi, howya doin', welcome to The MuppetCast! This week's show was originally slated to be the conclusion of our 4-part miniseries on the Center for Puppetry Arts, but as I was researching some things over the past few days I became convinced that I had to change it over to something else. October 12, 1997 was the date that a good friend of the Muppets, John Denver, passed away. I felt we needed to spend some time remembering Mr. Denver, and I hope you enjoy what I've put together.

We'll wrap up our look at the CPA next week.

Anyone familiar with movies like Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, or various other Kevin Smith productions will recognize the actor at the very top of the show. Jason was very nice, and it was great to have him at the Mid-Ohio Comic Con.

Am I forgetting anything? You listen to the episode and tell me. The iTunes issue is fixed (yay!), so getting the show should be nice and simple again. And as Jim always said, Simple Is Good.

Have a good one!

Steve--

I'll fully admit to tearing up at this heartfelt, moving tribute to John Denver.

May his work live on forever.

Steve, I'm so glad you changed the focus of the show to John Denver even if it was at the last minute.

John Denver holds a special place in my family's heart. My uncle Dave LOVED John Denver. My uncle passed away from leukemia in August '97 and exactly two months later, just before Dave's birthday, John Denver passed away. Dave's wife said she thought John's passing was because Dave couldn't stand to celebrate his birthday in heaven without him:smile:

Anyway, thanks for all the work you do on the Muppetcast!

That's a very touching story (and in a way, a little bit funny). Glad you liked the episode, as always I'm glad and honored to do the work.

This is so beautiful, Steve! An amazing show for an amazing man. I loved it, and I especially loved hearing the clips from A Christmas Together as I have never seen that special before.

Thank you so much for dedicating this show to John.

Thanks for reading my E mail Steve! I'm going to make a thread in a few days to get some ideas going for what to do for Jim and everyone at the Ask Jim Thread.

I too loved the John Denver episode. Back in college, when most of us wouldn't admit we were John Denver fans...one night my friend and I were taking a ride in his car. The friend put on "Grandma's Feather Bed" and didn't say a word. He just quietly watched me until I joined in on the refrain. Then I got a big grin. "That was a test. You passed!" The older I get, the more I appreciate John Denver. And I'd highly recommend seeing Colorado for yourself someday. You'll see what he was getting so excited about.
