I can't believe this show is finally online! After a 2 & 1/2 week effort of recording and editing (and thanks to some awesome work done by some incredible MuppetCast listeners), the 100th episode is up for public consumption. I hope you like it!

There's a somewhat novel concept behind this episode. During my first few episodes (which I'll admit are hard for me to listen to now) I did something along with the Muppet montage called The MuppetCast Unplugged, where I'd take one of my favorite Muppet tunes and rework it into my own version and present it in that montage. I tried it one time and people seemed to like it, so I wound up doing about a dozen of them. It got to a point, though, where working up and recording the song took up more time than a simple "unplugged" song should, so I gave it up. For some reason people kept asking me to do more, but there was never time enough.

Well, for this one episode, I made time. A little over half a month, actually! When you do the math it comes out to about 5 hours average of work for each song, from initial concept to finished recording. Put that on top of the normal amount of time to record and produce two normal week-to-week MuppetCasts and...well you've got yourself a pile of work there! But it's all fun, and as you know I wouldn't have it any other way.

I debated on putting this paragraph in here: Please don't think I'm doing the 100th this way to in any way make this about me. It's completely not; I wanted to do this in response to listener requests for more MC Unplugged and the work that went into this is completely a "thank you" to everyone listening for your endless support, and as yet another way to honor Jim Henson's life and work. I hope you listen to this and come away thinking "I never heard that song done like that before!" and maybe gain a new way of looking at some old favorites.

I say it a lot in the episode, but Thank You so much to every one here at Muppet Central who listens to the show, and for all of your support. I couldn't do this without you guys! I hope you enjoy this episode.

Hey Steve... Listened to the concert last night. Loved it all. Really liked how you went in a Ray Charles style for Bein' Green, the sort of Hey Jude extra lines at the end of Lose Your Heart, and I loved the accordion in When The River Meets The Sea. Your accent/imitation for the glam rockish Mary Had A Bicycle was nice too. I'm just wondering why Let Me Be Your Song and Saying Goodbye had verses omitted. The framing story with the guest Muppet voice artists was funny as always. Thanks for a great show and here's hoping for another hundred more.

Someone got my Hey Jude reference, YES!

Thanks Count and RP! The omitted verses from Let me Be Your Song and Saying Goodbye came from a couple recording mix-ups, where I thought I'd allowed for them while recording the instrumental tracks and later found out I was wrong. I hope it didn't take away too much from the song. I wasn't to worried about Let Me Be Your Song since that was part of a larger medley encompassing Sing and Lose Your Heart.

Thanks guys! Yeah, Rainbow Connection was a little high for me. Especially once I changed key halfway through!

That's called a modulation. :sympathy:

It's G-sharp minor.

(Actually it was E flat major)

LOL love the Rowlf Reference there!

Yea Kermit and Ernie both for that matter there voices can range so much that I would think it would be hard to not have any pitch problems singing there songs. That is Just how Jim was though,he could go really low, and then with the same breath somehow get really high.

Is there anyone who would like to tell us which songs are in there? I'd probably check back after finishing it up, I'm listening to it right now (yes I'm slow, but when you're on spring break, other things take precedence).
