It was filmed, because when Paul Williams messed up his line, he looked out at the director and asked, "Do I start over, of just keep going?"

Maybe that was just filmed to put in the archives to keep some visual record of it.

I think you're right, Barry. It would have been nice if they had recorded in front of a live studio audience, and then re-filmed it to that recording to release it on DVD. that would rock!
