I was reading commets on "The kiss, kiss, hug, hug, darling" thread and an idea hit me! I think we should start up an awards ceremony in which users vote for certain topics (e.g. Best user, Best Roleplay, Best game and so on). I've previously organised voting award ceremonys on the Harry Potter boards at imdb.com so I know what I'm doing. We could add a poll to certain threads or PM votes to certain users and then hold a grand award ceremony on a thread with different users presenting awards! What do you guys think?

Best user
Best moderator
Lifetime achievment
Best Game
Best thread
Best new user (of the previous year)

Any suggestions???

Hmm... I don't know if I get it sorry. The idea is that we are voting for the best users, best threads, best best best? Awards can be fun, but I don't really like the idea about choosing a "Favorite" user. Maybe it's just me, but I think that some people might end up feeling a bit left out.

I didn't want to have awards like "Worst poster" or anything like that. Look at the "Fave User" thread. Can't you notice that nobody is left out...

I know what you mean, HPDJ. Here's what I'd suggest (P.S. for anyone afraid this will cause trouble, we've done it before)

Write a list of of the subjects like:

Most friendly:
Craziest:
Best gamer:
Gekiest:

...etc...

Then each person can fill out the list with names, then you can see which ones are used most for each person, and announce the winners. And the person with the most votes in each catagory wins. The person with the most catagories wins the Best-Overall.

BUT! It's not a competition. It's just a fun awards ceromony. We've done it before, it's fun if people don't take it too seriosuly.

Sounds like a load of fun to me! I do like HPDJ's idea of best new user of the previous year. This would be an awesome idea, I say we go for it!
