Monkees; aka, Poor Man’s TV Beatles.

Actually, for a manufactured group, they did crank out a few decent tunes.
Sure, they had a bank of songwriters to pen the tunes, and session men to play the instruments, but that doesn't mean it was bad.
My top 5 Monkee songs: "She","Words", "Goin' Down", "Listen to the Band", and"For Pete's Sake".

Live, they couldn't play to save their lives. But it didn't matter. The screaming of ten thousand teenyboppers covers a multitude of sins.
