Does anyone know what and when the final News Flash to be produced was?

Good question. . .I would say that one of the last ones made was the one with Kermit interviewing the tiny bird who sang about her parents living in different trees. ("Mama's tree is over here, back there is Daddy's tree, they live in different places, but they both love me. . .") Also, I assume we're not counting Kermit's news appearance in the "hurricane" episodes! If so, then that would likely be the last one.

Another News Flash made during the waning days of the skits was "The Princess and the C."

And I believe there was one last one where Kermit was interviewing Old MacDonald, who had built a spa on his farm and an aerobics teacher cow made everyone exercise, including Kermit. "You can stand to lose some of that tadpole fat!" she said.

Yes he did. This was the last time the 1971 Sesame Street News Flash theme (written by Joe Raposo) was used in a new segment, despite having a different title card (it wasn't the cloud/lightning one we all know). All other new Sesame Street News segments started with Kermit in front of a desk as a different fanfare was heard (this could be seen on the episodes about Slimey landing on the moon and the hurricane episode).

I believe that's correct, and I do believe it was one of the few (actually the only one that I'm aware of) that didn't feature the usual opening "we now take you to Kermit the Frog for another fast-breaking news story".

As for when it was made, I believe it was either 1986 or 1987.

I once saw that skit with the opening titles and announcer. They must have tacked it on in later years or something. Also, I believe the skit was made around 1989 or early 1990 before Henson's death.
