As you may remember, on the Peter Ustinov episode of TMS, Peter came across a Hatrack, and Kermit pointed out that it was the show's writer... and under "written by" in the credits there was indeed a credit for "the hatrack"

Now, I went to imdb.com, and to my horror I discovered that under the writing credits, there was no mention of this important member of the team. They credited John Cleese for his contribution to scripting his own episode (even though he was not credited on the show), so what's with this double standard.

Anyway, does anyone know what other programs the hatrack has worked on, and indeed what it's up to these days?

I think crediting "The Hatrack" in that episode was just a gag. You might want to look at the outline for that ep again.

Do you mean the laugh-track? Is it the same thing? The only REAL laughs on the show were the cast/crew in a few things, namely the Steve Martin episode.

Otherwise, the laugh-track is a prerecorded piece, so it likely wouldn't get credited.

Daffyfan: DUH! My post was a joke too

Fozzie Bear: "hatrack" as in "hat rack"... I probably should have spelt it as two words

I misunderstood, I (of course) read that as a Ha-Track, rather than HatRack.

Nevermind.
