Well, I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. Parts of it were definitely shocking. The end reminds me of Robin Williams’ Viagra skit.

I think I was secretly hoping to hear Bill Barretta curse through a puppet, now I did! He’s perfect for the lead!

I'm hopeful. This trailer's purpose is to shock in order to differentiate the film from the usual family friendly fare, so I'm not sure it's safe to judge much from it. I'd wait til trailer 2. There's time.

I have no problem with shocking humor, as long as it has an underlying purpose. This is devoid of wit. I realize we're only getting two minutes of footage, but if these are highlights, this movie is going to be absolutely awful.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm hoping for a green band trailer that shows the story instead of the dirty moments

Clearly it was more important to them to shock people into realizing that this would not be the usual puppet fare from the Henson name than telling the plot. They could have done both, and future ones probably will. Even so, I like the ad. Lots of scrutiny for such a tiny sampling, but that's what we fans do.

No, I get that, and I hope that your optimism is rewarded. But if the level of cleverness is relegated to such quips as "F**k me." "Maybe I will!" then I will certainly be disappointed.

I said this on Facebook, but I'm worried about how this will affect the Muppets and Sesame Street. Even though they are clearly saying that this is not them I can't help but wonder if people will still say something about this is not the Muppets or Sesame.
