I like the somewhat lighter, creamier flavor of White American (it's usually one of my go-to cheeses for sandwiches and such), but as for regular American cheese, not really a fan.

If there is one cheese I absolutely cannot stand, it's Swiss . . . screw what Bert says about the holes making it taste better, it doesn't, that stuff is just straight-up nasty.

My wife likes Swiss, so I make a lot of Reubens for her. With everything else in there, corned beef, kraut, Thousand Island dressing, the melted Swiss doesn’t stand out so much.

I got a pack of Kraft singles I use just for grilled cheeses. Gorgonzola works good too.

I’ve tried different cheeses from all over the world, and only three don’t agree with me. Parmesan, Bleu, and Limburger.
Yes, Limburger does exist, and it stinks to high heaven. How my grandmother used to eat this defies description.

When it comes to parmesan, I like shredded to sprinkle atop of a warm dish like spaghetti or something, but not that powdered or grated stuff that you usually get in restaurants or pizzerias.

Going back to what @D'Snowth said about cheese, I'll eat American cheese with burgers but not on sandwiches. As for white American cheese yup! Swiss cheese, use to eat that stuff often when I was younger but as I've gotten older, yeah it's bland.

My favorite cheese of all is MOZZARELLA! Hands downs!

Mozzarella can be good stuff, but it depends . . . if you're able to get whole milk mozzarella, then yeah, that stuff's amazing! Low fat or skim milk mozzarella on the other hand is really bland and tasteless.
