They may not hold paint well, but yellow eyes would be a cool change from the norm.

Just a note - If you want to paint the foam, don't forget to use a sealer first and then paint them. This should solve your problem with soaking. I have found that a good primer will do the job and then I just grab my airbrush and have at it
