The Disney afternoon of our youth

After reading everyone's comments, I must add something. While everyone has named some really good shows, I hark back a little further to the early to mid 80's, when Disney had two live action shows on in the afternoon. Anyone remember "Dumbo's Circus" or "Welcome to Pooh Corner"? These were my favorites back in the day. An interesting side note to both shows...Walker Edmiston did alot of the voices on "Dumbo", and Laurie Main (a famous British actor/comedian) narrated "Pooh". Both of these actors also appeared on "Land Of The Lost", Edmiston played Enik the Altrusian, and Main guest starred on the show's 3rd season as Blandings in the "Repairman" episode.
I love all the shows you guys have mentioned, I just thought I'd rewind a little further back...back when Disney was a premium channel!

I remember the Disney Afternoon started out with Gummi Bears, Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, and Talespin. And they had this opening where the Disney characters jump off a storyboard and get painted to some cool music. Darkwing Duck was part of the group, but his show hadn't aired yet and Gosalyn was there too. I wondered who were those two ducks were, until the Darkwing series was finally shown to the public.

I assumed he was a vampire. At least, that's what i got from the Ducktales video game (He looked like the Duckula you had to fight at the end). Funny notion considering the Night of the Living Spud episode, where country Bumpkins claimed he was one, and forced him to eat super hot hot peppers.

I think I'll be getting the second volume of Darkwing Duck in a few days. Nice cartoon from the early 90's.

I love me some DuckTales! It aged quite nicely cuz it didn't dumb itself down for the kids!

Barksian purists would tend to disagree. What a lot of old Scrooge McDuck comic fans always complained about was the absense of Donald from being in every single episode, and being replaced by Launchpad et al.

However, it is only through my love of Ducktales that I came across Carl Barks (and Don Rosa's) Scrooge Comics.

I love the show and the comics both.

I'm glad they've only so far focus on the best of TDA, Gummy bears - Darkwing Duck. Goof Troop and Quack Pack had "test the waters" disks so far.

I hope by the time Toy Story 3 comes out they put Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on DVD in sets. I have to say one thing about that show. I enjoy Patrick Warburton's voice of Buzz way more than the original Tim Allen voice. he gives a nice Adam West like spin on it.

Definitely! I wish more kids shows recognized the value of that.

I remember these shows too. They were both significant part of my childhood. I wish I could see these again, I have found very limited amounts of each on youtube. Good stuff.

As much as I liked Bonkers, i have enough video tapes to fill me. It was a decent show, just not as good as their first.

I definitely watched "Pooh Corner" and "Dumbo's Circus", every time they were on. I loved the songs "Pooh Corner" did at the end of every episode.
