Anyone remember this filmed segment. It all the sudden came into my mind a few days ago. Some kids doing some lame 1970's interpretive dance thing where they were dancing around shouting "AH OH AH OH AH OH AH AH AH AH AH!" or something to that extent.

The teacher then comments about how he didn't like it, which is completely bizarre to look back on now. Doesn't seem to be that much of a motivational thing to say to kids.

Yeah. I've noticed that too. I don't think that's something they'd air again these days. (Heck, hardly anything from the 70s and 80s are things they'd air again these days, but that's a different story.)

I'm genuinely dumbfounded by something. When did this business start of calling ALL mustaches "porn 'staches?"
It doesn't look right on him. He'd benefit from a nice Roger C. Carmel mustache.

I definitely remember this film, it was shown constantly when I was a kid. I always kinda liked the teacher's no-nonsense attitude, lol. The kids were probably used to him being all sarcastic like that.

Still, you have to wonder if "I didn't like it" would have sounded better had he said "you can do better" after that.

The final comment "When I grow up, I want to be a policeman" always seemed like something they tacked on at the end...like they wanted 5 additional seconds for the clip. The filmed footage during that comment doesn't match what they were doing before either. It looks like the camera crew just filmed whatever class was scheduled next in that dance studio. "Eh, just get a shot of them doing cartwheels or something, Charlie. After lunch, we'll get more zoo animal shots for that Joe Raposo thing..."

I saw this clip when I was really little and when they came to the part where the kids were holding their stomachs and going "Uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh!", I half expected one of them to blurt out "SpaghettiO's!" (old commercial reference).

Somehow, saying that he wants to be a police officer is the kid's equivalent of saying
"Why didn't I become a dentist like mother wanted?"

Oh definitely. Still I find when sarcastic people try too hard to sound nice, it just sounds forced, lol.

The editing is a little rough at the end (love your comment on the zoo films, lol). I guess the policeman comment is just to show that little boys can take dance classes and still be all tough and macho.
