Sure.

I needn't discribe dad too much, my personality is modeled after his. He volunteered in a scientist project to create a shapeshifter. They copied his personality and a modified version of his DNA, and created me. They injected me with some sort of medicine to give me shapeshifting powers, but it doesn't appear to work. They originally wanted to just kill me, but my foster parents begged them to keep me alive, and took me in their home.
Despite having the body of a five year old, I have the IQ of an adult, so I became a big help to them. My foster mom has a broken leg.
But one day, while I returned from a trip to the grocery store, I found the house burnt by some wicked people, and both my parents killed. I became an orphan in the streets, and worked with a magician with my now-active shapeshifting powers. The scientists didn't realise it takes years for the medicine to take effect.

And then I came here…
