(I just looked it up on Wikipedia. There's an equivalent in Austria and Southernn Germany called "Strauben". I live in Northern Germany and I've never seen them anywhere)

Sucks, huh? :/
But maybe see it that way, each funnel cake is more special because you can't get it as easily as pretzels.
