*arrive at the museum and get off the bike*

*enter the museum with Johnny*

*quietly so that only Johnny can hear me*
Well then, time to learn the truth.

Yep...

*takes a look at the map hanging on the wall*

Looks like we want to go right...left is the food court...

There is a general history section, a section dedicated to...monsters...apparently, and a section with ancient artifacts dug up around the city...

Let's just go to the monster section...
Although, the section with artifacts sounds interesting too. Maybe we should check it out some time.

*take Johnny's hand, feeling nervous about what we're going to learn*

 

[Sgt Floyd]

Ok...

*quickly find the stuff about witches*

Now let's see...
*see various newspapers articles, journal entries from eye witnesses and old photographs, all to them approximately a hundred years old*
Newspaper article:
Ever since Monstropolis has been founded fifty years ago, we have been betrayed by monsters. But just recently, we have gotten another proof why monsters cannot be trusted. A group of witches have attacked the city of Monstropolis, claiming to rule the world with this city as their base. One of them has held an orb. Eye witnesses have claimed that rust-colored mist emitted from the orb and formed into a dragon. The dragon's destruction of the city is still evident and will probably be for years to come.

*start to read a journal entry, written by someone named Eddie Johnson*
*first part is basically the same as the newspaper article*
The dragon started to destroy the city before the witch leader got all the words out. I remember seeing the witches standing there, amusing smirks on their faces as if they were seeing a play. Screams and cries accompanied this horrible destruction. Everywhere I looked, dead bodies, their identities hardly recognizable from the blood covering their bodies, lay on the streets. Many survivors tried to escape or help the injured. I tried to save as many injured as I could, alongside my betrothed Ophelia.
I still don't know what happened next, no matter how often I recall the day in my mind. All I remember was seeing a couple of men killing these witches and a young woman with angel wings taking the orb. The dragon turned into mist and the angel flew off, so fast I am not even sure I really saw her.
The witches couldn't die before giving up their powers, thus girls and women were chosen to inherit their powers, among them my Ophelia. The mayor banished these new witches and every other monster in the city, declaring that none of them shall ever return...

*take a look at the photographs; there's a photo of the men who killed the witches, some of them look like the grandfathers and great grandfathers of various MIB agents*
*there's a photo of the dragon, lookin just like the one who destroyed the city not too long ago*
*photos of the destroyed city and corpses, a couple of photos of the witches, photos of the city's reconstruction*

*looks at the pictures and starts to feel sick*

So if a witch IS evil...are the people who inherit their powers also evil?

 

[Yuna Leonhart]

I don't know... But maybe it depends on the personality of the successor. remember the witch I killed just a few days after we got together? I inherited her powers too but I'm still same old me.

*look at the photos again, feeling really sick*
*then look down to my shoes with a guilty face, as if I'm feeling responsible for all this*

Yuna...*takes both of her hands* Don't think that any of this is your fault. You weren't even alive back then.
