Maybe something less gory? Like Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children? Nothing beats a movie where children are suffering from a disease with no known cure and the main protagonist self-pitying because he couldn't save two friends - one of them might be his love interest - from dying.

Or how about The Princess And The Frog? Or Pirates of The Caribbean?
