Jim, just wanted to add my congratulations to you and all involved in the creation of the Bohemian Rhapsody video. It is truly brilliant, funny, and it even has a bit of heart, doesn't it? Very nice. I showed it to a few friends, who enjoyed it, and told someone at work about it, who was very impressed and also really enjoyed the other viral videos. The bit with Kermit at the end was a stroke of genius. Awesome work!

... Oh, and I do have a question. I've thought about this question before, can't remember if I actually asked it or not. Anyhoo, after noticing the return of Beauregard in recent online videos (which is awesome), I am reminded of Jerry Juhl's feeling that the character was difficult to write for, because he had no desires and stuff like that. However, I also noticed that in The Great Muppet Caper, Beauregard acts as the hero, grappling with Nicky Holiday while the other Muppets are off tossing the baseball diamond around. He is also a "hero" to the rats in an episode of The Muppet Show. So, I guess my question is, have you ever thought of exploring that aspect of his personality more? His herois side? Does he long to be a hero? Or is he oblivious to the fact that he is, and it's just part of his inner sense of justice that he acts the hero/defender of rats?

...Does that make sense?

I'm loving all of this Muppet goodness that is going on, and I'm really loving these Muppet studios twitter and facebook pages!

As far as your question Super Scooter I was pretty sure you asked it before, so I looked around to see if I could find it. after reading nine pages of this thread I found your question and Jim's Answer. here I'll post it here for ya

From Super Scooter…
“Hi, Jim!
I noticed that Beauregard has a tendency to show a more heroic side. In The Great Muppet Caper, Beauregard was the only one "fighting" with Nicky Holiday instead of getting wrapped up in the "baseball game". There's also an episode of The Muppet Show where he defends the rats. Have you or any of the other Muppet writers given any thought about possibly exploring this aspect of the character further?

Good question. Very good question. Beauregard has always been an enigma to me. (Maybe ‘cause I’m a “word” guy, and he’s not.) I’ll see what Dave Goelz has to say about this. Perhaps Beauregard could be a superhero – “Custodian: Cleaning Up Crime!u201D ….(See what happens when I try to write without getting paid?)

So that was a great Question, and also a wonderful Answer. I hope that helps!

To Jim:

I know that you've rarely if ever written for the Sesame Street Muppets. But if you were to write for Sesame Street, which characters would you most want to write for?

Two questions again...

First off, how ofter do you as a writer actually have to be on-set during the average production span?

On the subject of Kermit's Swamp Years: we've all noticed that there is a mass of in-jokes to the early years of Jim Henson's career. Did Henson request these in-jokes go into the movie or did you just write these in on your own?

Jermaine! ...Wait, that's not right. Eh, he'll get the gist of it.

I have two questions for you! (Two! Two questions! Ah! Ah! Ah!)

One, one question! Have you seen any good movies lately? I saw The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock last night and absolutely loved it, and I watched Disney/Pixar's Up on DVD recently and fell in love with it again.

Two, two question(s)! What have some of your favorite recurring sketches been? Pigs in Space? Vet's Hospital? Bear on Patrol? The ever-popular talking houses? Muppet Sports? Wayne and Wanda? Anything else I'm too lazy to type out?

Thanks, Julliard! Hope all is well with you and yours and theirs!
