Rocky (after the third, shouyld have skipped over 4 & 5 and gone straight to Rocky Balboa)

At the risk of sounding political.... Rocky 4 was basically a film that was made to be an anti-Soviet propaganda piece. Whole film was that the evil Soviet Boxer can fall to an American. Basically the same Reagan era stuff I don't wanna get into.

I feel the same way about Roger Rabbit, but as I understand it, Robert Zemeckis is trying to get a sequel green-lighted.

The idea of a sequel/prequel was around for some time... I really think that War plot line had some bite to it (I wonder if that was true or a rumor). But there was a second book Who p-p-p-p-p-p-p-plugged Roger Rabbit that was a very loose sequel to the movie.

I really doubt this movie will happen, though. Severely.

I almost forgot about A Very Brady Sequel, lol.

The original movie was very amusing, what with the Brady's apparently never aging, as they're exactly the same as they were in the 70s, and are now stuck in modern-day 90s; but somehow the sequel was a little better, but I guess it's because it wasn't mostly all about making fun of how they don't fit in the 90s, but rather had interesting subplots throughout... though admitedly, the whole thing with Greg and Marcia secretly having the hots for each was somewhat disturbing (and I know what a few of you are going to mention, so shut up, lol).

Not to mention all the random cameos throughout, and not just by original cast members, but like Zsa Zsa Gabor, Rosie O'Donnell, and even Barbara Eden reprising her role of Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie.

Now, movies that should NEVER see a sequel:

The Goonies

Funny thing about the Goonies... they had a sequel of sorts... a video game which was really the sequel to a Japanese Goonies video game.

Also, Warner Bros was planning for the longest time, a Goonies animated series. It never got off the ground (and Coconut Fred and Loonatics DID?), but there was some production/promotional art floating around the net for a while.

In many cases in trilogies I like the second ones best. I like Back to the Future II, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and Home Alone II: Lost in New York the best out of their respective trilogies (I know, some of those had fourth movies, big whoop!)

But there are trilogies that get better with each movie. Each Spiderman movie is better than the previous one, as is all movies from the Star Wars prequel trilogy (The Empire Strikes Back is the ebst from the original trilogy).

I find TMNT 1 far superior to the second. The first one was able to go out and do something outside of the show... sure, they had to keep April a reporter (had they made April a scientist like in the comic book, they would have needed to change the film considerably to feature her working with Baxter Stockman, and Shredder wouldn't have been in it all that much), and the colored bandannas... but it really stuck to the original comic. The second film became the cartoon series... something that happened with Ghostbusters 2 and especially Men in Black 2 (even the alien designs looked like they were done by the same cartoon designers). plus that whole Go Ninja Go number was forced... and worst of all ... no Casey Jones! The Third movie was alright (they needed Henson's suits and puppetry- the guys they used stunk), but I always liked it better than the second due soley to the fact Casey was in it.

I thought Final Destination 3 was overall more enjoyable than the first 2. I hated the second one, I thought it was incredibly lame, of course, I have only seen the tv edits, so I dont know just how gorey it is. The only thing I liked about the first one was the deaths. I loved the teacher lady's death. Worst (er...best?)in the movie. I think I might have some kind of psychotic fanination with people in movies dieing. But I thought that 3 was just more enjoyable to watch, including the parts where the people dont die.

I actually thought the lion king 2 was just as good as the first one. the song sung by the female lion who had a connection to scar (dont remember how) was a neat song. I dunno...

Now there are some movies like Wayne's World and Rock N Roll High School that should have never had sequels. Actually have never seen RnRHS: Forever, but from what I heard, it was a trainwreak, so I have no real desire to see it (and from what I heard, you cant really call it a sequel)

It's been in the news for a while now, I forget when it's slated to be released though, but it's all over the internet, and I've even read about it in the paper when they did a spread about how Pixar always manages to keep their audience's interests with each new movie they make.

WHY!

Don't get me wrong, it'd be nice to see Mike and Sulley again, but WHAT COULD THEY POSSIBLY DO?

On a different note: I'm kinda glad that Disney stopped with the DTV sequels. While there are a few that were on par the the originals (Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Little Mermaid 2, Lion King 1 1/2) some were just unnecessary (Fox and the Hound 2, Cinderella 2).

I love all the Star Wars movies but in particular Empire Strikes Back is such a well written sequel. Then when you get to the prequel trilogy AOTC was better than PM (IMO) then ROTS blew it away.

Aliens was a great sequel but then Alien 3 sucked as did Resurrection. I liked AVP but AVP: Requiem was HORRIBLE!

Terminator 2 was great Terminator 3 sucked Salvation was okay but not as good as 2.

Most Disney DTV sequels really suck. I actually liked Return To Neverland though. (Though wasn't that one theatrically released?) Return of Jafar had a good plot but cheesy musical numbers. (Aladdin the series was good as was Lilo and Stich the series)

I can't really see a sequel to Monsters Inc. The Incredibles on the other hand...
