Enjoy this fan-fic script, which would make a good Sesame Street video.

(an animated title sequence, featuring the "Number of the Day" counting organ, is shown as the title appears on-screen and The Count reads the title outloud. The scene fades to black, and then The Count is shown in his castle as the Count's usual opening music is heard)

The Count: Greetings! It is I, Count von Count, also known as The Count. Do you know why they call me The Count? Well, you probably already know. (the doorbell rings) Oh, that is one, one rings! (the doorbell rings again) That's two rings! (the doorbell rings again) Three, three rings! (The Count waits for more rings, but he doens't get any) Hmm, that must be it. I guess I'll answer the door now. (The Count goes to answer the door, but nobody is there) Hmm, whoever it was must have gotten tired of waiting. I have the same problem with answering the phone.

(scene fades to the skit where The Count hired Ernie to be his telephone operator, followed by the skit where Susan Surrandon and The Count use a doorknocker which causes the Count to count knocks)

The Count: Aw, yes, those were some good, and in some cases bad, time. (a knock is heard) One, one knock! (after waiting a few seconds) Hmm, that must be it. I guess I'll answer the door. (The Count answers and Elmo comes in)
Elmo: Hi, Count.
The Count: Oh, hello, Elmo, you are one, one guest!
Elmo: Thank you. Elmo knows that you like to count knocks and rings, so Elmo knew to stop knocking.
The Cont: Oh, good dea. Oscar asked me earlier if I wanted a job answeirng the door to his trash can. Anyway, what brings you here, Elmo?
Elmo: Well, Elmo forgot how to count to two. Can you teach Elmo?
The Count: Why, certanly. One, two. Two! A-ha-ha!! (hunder and lightening strikes)

(the scene cuts to the sketch where The Count met Madin Two, followed by the skit where The Count and Cookie Monster count and eat cookies, then followed by The Song of The Count, then the Number of the Day: Six Feet Under, and the Miami Mice Skit where The Count needed to get to a space station)

Elmo: Hey, Count.
Count: Yes?
Elmo: Can I play wiht your organ?
The Count: Of course. You can play eight beautiful notes.

(cut to Eight Beautiful Notes, followe dby Count Up to Nine)

Elmo: Hey, Count, do you have anything to eat?
The Count: Oh, yes, I've got exactly 124 different things to eat.
Elmo: Oh, boy!
The Count: Aw, yes, and one of my favorite places to eat at is Charlie's Resturaunt.

(cut to the Grover the Waiter skit where The Count was a customer, followed by the Sesame Street News skit where The Count counted the three little pigs, and then the skit where The Count appeared on Beat the Time)

(Zoe shows up)
Zoe: Hi, count.
The Count: Oh, that's one, two, two wonderful visitors! A-ha-ha!! (thunder and lightning strieks)
Elmo: Oh, a thunderstorm.
Zoe: Hey, Count, would you like to count my dance moves?
The Count: Of course, and I will also teach you some dance moves.
Elmo and Zoe: Oh, boy/ yayyy

(fades to Lambaba and The Batty Bat)

Zoe: Those were some great dance moves.
Elmo: Oh, yes, they were. (looks around, and then realizes that The Count is no longer there) Hey, where'd The Count go?
Zoe: Oh, The Count said that he was goin g to get his mail.

(cut to the skit where The Count got his mail, followed by The Count counting Ernie and Bert's blocks, and The First Day of School)

Elmo: Wow!
Zoe: What a great first day of school.
Emo: Elmo can't wait to start school!
The Count: Yes, I counted every day, every homework assignment, and every A.
Elmo: Well, Elmo has to go home now.
Zoe: Yeah, me, too!
The Count: Okay, good bye. (Elmo and Zoe leave) Well, this video tape has been brought to you today by the number, uh, well, whatever the last number is. I know! I'll keep counting untill there are no more numbers left! One, two, three, four....

(closing music starst playinbg as The Count's counting fades away, and the credits roll)

Well, does anybody have anything to say about this? Anything good? Anything bad? I know that 22 people have read this. Would it make a good video release? Does anybody have any favorite Count sketches that I left out? Oh, and I am sorry for forgetting to include Squeel of Fortune.

I thought it was very good. I haven't watched Sesame Street in ages so I can't think of anything I would have added off hand. I thought it would have worked great as a real video special.

Very Nice Job! It would be a great video release. I tought you could've included the two part skit where The Count sleeps at Ernie and Bert's. Here is what I would've done

Elmo: Count, how can you sleep in such a scary place like this?

The Count: Whenever I can't go to sleep I always count sheep. I remember one time I slept in Ernie and Bert's apartment I stayed awake for the whole night.

Cuts to skit :stick_out_tongue: :frown:

I thought about using that skit, but didn't I couldn't decide if I should hav ehad both parts run togetehr or if I should have put in some sort of break between them, like having a new scene and then sow part 2.

Somehow, I have a feeling that if Sesame Workshop were to reelase this video, as a family-market release (and not a nostalgia market release), it would not have the skits with The Count counting Ernie and Bert's blocks or Grover serving The Count, as those skits featured The Count having hypnotism powers that could scare kids. I could see those skits being included in the upcomming nostalgia box set, but not a regular family-market DVD release. Then again, I know that the one with the blocks was shown on Noggin, a kids channel.

Yes it's hard to know what harmless things may be censored by people with unusual standards of what is right for kids.:stick_out_tongue:

Then again thank goodness though some cuts were made to TMS season one due to music licencing, none were made by censors.
Just imagine if the explosions and monsters eating other characters were deemed too inappropriate for a family audience what might have been cut out of the set.

Anyway I really do love your fan fic minor:smile:

I know that on the skit with the blocks (which was, by the way, the Count's very first appearance on the show), the music was done on a pipe organ sort of thing to give it a more Transylvanian feel. In the other skits (such as the one with the Count counting flowers and when the Bats go on strike), a spooky tune is played on a rock-type organ (this type of music would be heard in my fan-fic with the Count counting those butterflies). On the one where he counts mail, the music sounds quite dark, like a low orchestrated piece heard in an old (or even new) R-rated horror movie.
