Did anyone ever see this sketch? I knew about choosing the national bird and Don Music as Thomas Jefferson, but not this one. Was anyone new in it like Kermit or Cookie Monster?

Cookie Monster and Kermit were not in "Washington Crossing The Delaware". Grover and some AM's were in that sketch.

I remember that one. Especially, Grover saying "That is not very nice" when George told him about the British attacking. I also remember that Grover didn't know who Washington was.

Christopher Columbus

Was this historical skit similar to one with Christopher Columbus? Kermit the frog comes to you from Spain where he's at a sendoff of some boats. He interviews Mr. Columbus:

CC: Well, I'm off to discover America, and here I got three boats. Say, uh what time it it?
KERMIT: (looks at watch) Why it's, 1492.
CC: Hey, If I'm gonna discover America, I'd better get a move on!

One by one Columbus sends the first two boats off (Nina and Pinta; I'm not sure if he mentioned them by name)

CC: Abast there lady, hoist the anchor... (don't remember the exact words)
(boat sails off)
Crowd of anything muppets yell "Goodbye, goodbye..."

Finally, Columbus himself gets aboard the last boat, presumably the Santa Maria.

CC: All ashore is goin' ashore, Indians pull ahead.
KF: Uh Columbus, the boat is still tied to the dock!
CC: WHAT?
KF: I said, the boat is still tied to the dock!
CC: I couldn't hear you!

(Ship rips dock away, with Kermit still standing on it)

KF: Uhh, this is Kermit the Frog.....<something fast spoken> going to discover America! (cranes his neck to get the last words in on camera)
AM CROWD: Bye frog, bye frog, have a nice trip froggie (Cookie Monster voice:smile: Bye frog!

I remember that one very well. It was good to see your transcript. It really brought back memories.
