Hi, all,

Did anybody else get this set, and if so are you having the same problem I am? I bought it and have traded it twice now and am on the third trial--still the same problem.

When I put in the DVD (disc one, side a) it:
1) doesn't play at all
2) plays, but with skips and jumps
3) plays and then freezes
4) freezes the DVD player from all functions

Sometimes, it makes it through the interactive menu but with freezing seconds and jumps, and sometimes it freezes through the opening theme of the first episode and the first minute or so of the first episode.

How is this corrected? Is there something someone knows that I don't? If you do, won't you please tell me?

I miss seeing shows about my extended family!

~Kev

Are the discs scratched or smudged? 'Cause similar things happen to the ones I have have that are like that.

Did you try it on more than one player yet? Sometimes the player can't read the disk right, but others will. Or of course, it may just be a defective disk. You should try the other disks and sides first. You may just be able to get a single replacement disk from the company instead of returning the whole thing and checking to see if all those disks work too again. I had that problem with the ALLLLLVIIIIIIIN edition. I watched the entire rest of the DVD, nothing wrong. I watch the last episode on the set, and it skipped. And I couldn't find another copy to return it until this weekend.

UPDATE:

Well, I'm on the third set now. In Volume One the first episodes on beginning of each DVD does the same thing. Then, in the commentary it freezes up a tiny bit.

I'm going to try and finish up with Volume One and then try Volume Two. I'm so disappointed in this set. I may just try to take it all back and get my money back--it's going to be an uphill battle to do that, but I don't want DVDs that don't work.

I only have the one DVD player, and it plays other DVDs just fine.

Thank you for your email. If you have experienced problems with your DVD and seek a replacement, please contact 20th Century Fox as they have been appointed to handle all of MGM's Home Entertainment distribution. You can reach Consumer Products at Foxdrop@4icc.com or call them directly at (888) 223-2369.

SO, did you contact them yet? I had an unfortunate experiance with ONE disk, and one episode of the Powerpuff Girls box set I spent 60 bucks worth of gift cards on, and I don't want to return the entire set to get one disk... especially if those disks have defects too.

Seriously... DVD encoding for Box Sets has slid completely. Very very sloppy workmanship.

I agree. I want the full Fraggle Rock series set, but I'm afraid after hearing how the DVDs fall around in the kit.

I got the reponse in my e-mails today and e-mailed them. I odn't know when I'll get a reply from them.
