Btw, I do have to also plug the 1968 film version of Romeo & Juliet, which is also quite enjoyable. Maybe it's just the cute English accents, hehe.
Lol, and I was just gonna menchion that film, beat me to it- heehee! I've seen it, too. More traditional, obviously, so perahpes not as appealing as the 96 one fer today's audience, but I liked it.

I saw the 60s one! I had to watch it in either high school or college. Maybe both?

Well I probably have more shallow reasons; Leo Dicaprio was nice but I liked the English guys more, hehe.

What if the Muppets had did a Romeo and Juliet type movie? Here's my idea of a cast:

Romeo - (Some teen star)
Juliet - (Some teen star)
Capulet -Johnny Fiama
Lady Capulet - Miss Piggy
Montague - Kermit the Frog
Lady Montague - Jill (from MTM)
Friar Laurence - Gonzo
Nurses - Yolanda Rat and Camilla (I know its just one, but what they heck? Why not?)
Mercutio - Pepe
Paris - (Some celeb)
Benvolio - Robin
Prince - Sam Eagle
Balthasar - Scooter
Sampson - Fozzie Bear
Gregory - Rizzo
Abram - Sweetums
The Apothecary - Bunsen and Beaker

with The Electric Mayhem as the band at the Capulet Party.

___________

I know some object to the Muppets being in supporting roles, but in this case I can see that happening. Maybe that's just me, Lol.
