I guess if he's elected to president, his running mates would be the four horsemen of the appocolypse....

This scares me. Other than the jokes that surround him, the butt grabbing, son of a nazi sympathizer, action movie actor holding political office sends shivers down my spine.

Oh well... at least there won't be a dissappointig Terminator 4. :zany:

Yeah, I heard that it's official this morning. I'm not sure what to think of it. I guess I figure that if Jesse Ventura can handle being a governor (as much as Garrison Keillor loathes him), Arnie can too. I think he's a decent guy and he does care about the state. I don't see why he would go from showbusiness to politics unless it was something he cared about. I know he's especially concerned about kids and education. So, we'll see. It might not be too bad.

More jubilant I could not be...even in the last minute they tried to throw all this nonsense accusations at him(luckily I dont think any voters were swayed by that) how surreal is this? I remember watching T3 a few months ago neve rimagining he'd be the next governor. I know online its the thing to say "OMG, I feel sorry for you californians" and "Geez, what a travesty"...but you folks dont know the damage that wimpy idiot Gray Davis did to this great state.
I guess tho, the prerequisite is to have starred in sci fi films and have yer own action figure to be governor^_^

I was pulling for Gary Coleman, and I feel it would have been a wise move for a JHC Muppeteer to throw their hat in the ring for a publicity stunt, but Awwwwnold winning gives me hope the box we knew is now turned inside out. Up is down, black is white, tofu is existential chaos.

I agree with beaker to a point. I'm glad that Arnold beat out Bustamonte. Heck, I'd be glad if Mary Cary beat Bustamonte, but that's ok. The main thing is that Gray is out. All this talk about sour grapes by Republicans and the right-wing conspiracy to take over the country without winning elections is nonsense. Gray lied to the people before the November 2002 election, saying the defecit was only $8 billion, only to come out a few weeks after the election and say, oops, my mistake. I actually meant $35 billion. Lie to the people and they will make your grave to lie in.

Rather have McClintock, but I'm happy none-the-less.

Citizens of LA,
We shoot each other in our cars.
We riot everytime the Lakers win the championship.
The less said about our police force the better.
We think the guy who agreed to do Last Action Hero, Kindergarden Cop and Jingle All the Way will make a good leader.

Did I forget anything?

Gray Davis sucks (and I'm a Democrat from Massachusettes), and Arnold may scare me (the idea that an actor can take office... Ronald Reagan ring any bells) but what it really boils down to is...

I'm just glad the porn star or the watermellon smashing hack comic didn't win!

Wish they'd recall Mitt Romeny, though... :grouchy:
