Ten Tiny Turtles

Hello. I certainly have the famous 'ten tiny turtles on the telephone' segment on tape. It was on the episode where Big Bird wants to do the alphabet in the bird accent for the animal film festival. The 'ten tiny turtles' is an animated segment/song where the ten turtles talk to the grocery men, because they need the fruits and the veggies. It went like

1, 2, 3, 4, 5
6, 7, 8, 9, 10
Ten tiny turtles on the telephone
Talking to the grocery men

We would like some lettuce
Would you send us ten heads please?
And ten sweet potatoes
And ten rutabegas with their dimples on their knees

This episode also inclues that very old "Elevator 1-10" animation from Season 1 I just mentioned in another thread. That Season 31 episode was the first time it was used in 13 years.

Used to see it regulary down here in Oz.Great early animation.

LOL speaking of turtles, does anyone watch the TMNT? (ninja turtles? lol)

Michelangelo said in the second or third epsiode narration: "It isn't easy being green" But I have a card of Mikey saying "It's so easy being green!" LOL...I TMNT hehe!

I dont think Ive' ever seen ten tiny turtles on Sesame Street..that'd be cool 2 see, wow..turtle puppets!

Yes, you really are WAY of topic. Let's get back to the 10 Tiny Turtles. They have had turtle puppets on the show many times. Remember Shelley the Turtle from the late 80s/early 90s? She sang that song "I Get There," A Crosby Stills Nash & Young sound-alike.
