This has got to be one of the biggest voice changes Iv'e ever seen. I remember some time in the 80's his voice changed from being mopey scratchy and high pitched to Deep, gruff and Energetic. When I first started watching the show in 1984 it was Mopey and scratchy, but by the time I stopped watching the show (for a while) in 1988 it was deep and gruff. What happened?

Sesame Street seems to be much more consistent nowadays with what they show. Back then SS didn't really think much of what was "outdated"
