Oh, it was real. Some people on alt.tv.sesame-street remember it, I think it was around 1979-80...

OK, OK, red, purple, who cares.
But what I am trying to say is that I remember seeing Telly with another colour, and in the Dutch Sesame Street dubbed version he had another name too, so he probably had another name in the American version too.
