Something that I really love about the old days of Sesame Street is the Spiritual Connection between Telly and Oscar. Telly always seemed to be very much Fascinated with Oscar for some reason. But Oscar always acted Grouchy to Telly and gave him a really hard time. Now I know Oscar somehow had strong feelings of Friendship for Telly but never really admitted it, for some reason. I remember in the 1984-1985 Season Telly got lost in the park and Oscar acted very much concerned and did everything he could to get Telly back home safely. But it seems as though he always gave that attitude like he could Care Less about Telly and just wanted him to leave him alone! Well as of the 1993-1994 Season Telly became Baby Bear's Best Friend, and was still occasionally seen with Oscar, just not as much. I heard he was in an episode this past Season trying to learn how to do a Grouch Cheer to impress Oscar. So it looks as though he's still a little infatuated with Oscar, but mabye just not nearly as much as back in the day. I will always remember Sneak Peek Previews and Ask Oscar, and Telly being a very dedicated Grouchkateer. I guess with all these crazy changes to Sesame Street the who Telly and Oscar thing was somehow lost. But I'm glad the writers of this show still continiue to keep some original ideas in mind.

Yeah, I miss those days sometimes. The last good Telly/Oscar moment I can remember was on "Big Bird's Birthday"...

TELLY: I wish Oscar was here.
LUIS: Come one Telly, do you really think Oscar would come to a skating party?
*Enter Oscar carried by Bruno.
OSCAR: Ding-Dong, you're wrong!
TELLY: OSCAR!!!!

Face it, when Telly was a newer character, he was more gullible - he was like Oscar's toy. As the years went on he learned to think for himself, but was still eager to please anyone - not just Oscar.

Yeah, Telly seems to have changed over the years. He used to be known for a worry-wart. Mainly the stuff he worried about stemmed from stuff Oscar told him, especially, in the New Year's special.

The funny thing is now on the show Telly's treated more like a newer character like Zoe and Baby Bear, even though he's been around a lot longer than they have. I'd like to see an ep where Telly mentions that he was around for Maria and Luis's wedding or the birth of Gabi or even that he knew Mr. Hooper.

The writers seem to make the 90s-2000s Telly so different from the Telly of the 80s.

But I'm getting off topic. Basically, what I'm saying is that most Telly/Oscar moments use the old Telly, which is why we don't see "Ask Oscar" or "Sneak Peek Previews" anymore. It's really sad. "Grouchkateer Cheer" was an improvement though. Maybe they'll make more eps like that. They could also do some inserts together. Oscar and Slimey did a "Letter of the Day" this season. Maybe they could make one with Telly and Oscar if they could find a way to make that work. Just a few thoughts.
