I understand what you mean.

*now switching to the new movie that they are making*

I heard it's coming out in 2014. I think they are just going to title it "Ninja Turtles".
Love your pic of Animal

I'm not a fan of how Nickelodeon is handling the DVD release of the new series.

WOW! Single Disk releases again. It's like multiple disk sets never existed and it's 2002. Shout's been doing a great job (lacking special features unfortunately) of releasing Nicktoons in half season sets for around the same price as these lame single disks.

I really hope Shout gets some license to release the 2k3 series. I do NOT trust Nick's crappy single disk releases doing the show justice.

Nickelodeon sucks :frown: I don't really like watching it anymore. It isn't nearly as awesome as it was in the 80s.

80's Nick. Yeah, it had some good shows, but the 1990's Nicktoons put the network on the map. The Canadian sitcoms/edutainment shows were fun, but hardly the same fare as the far more memorable Doug and Ren and Stimpy. And really... their dubbed preschooly anime sucked. We didn't even get any of the good stuff. No Anpanman, no Doraemon... just crappy stuff about Koalas and a Tatsunoko show redubbed to be a Smurfs knockoff. I never got to see Count Duckula or Danger Mouse since those stupid Noozles were always on whenever I was at someone else's house.

Nick's TMNT series has become amazing in such a short period of time. It managed to capture the wackiness of the 80's series and the seriousness of the original comics and the 2k3 series. It deserves a look. Say what you will about their other programming, but I'm glad any reservations I've had about Nick owning the Turtles have been put to bed (minus the terrible Bay produced movie that keeps getting worse with every announcement).

Yes, Nick in the 90's rocked. They had a great line-up of original cartoons (Rocko's Modern Life is still one of my favorites) as well as great live-action shows, such as Are You Afraid of the Dark? Pete and Pete, and the puppet show Eureeka's Castle. I remember they also re-showed old cartoons and specials, such as Merry Melodies/ Looney Toons and The Muppets' Frog Prince. Jump to modern day,`and the last Nick Show I watched was Wolverine and the X-men, perhaps the most faithful X-men cartoon yet. It was excellent, so of course Nick cancelled it after one season:grr:. Anyway, if Nick's TMNT is as good as people are saying, I'll definitely have to check it out. I don't know if it could be as good as the 2K3 show, but I'll give it a try. Speaking of mixing the wackiness of the 80's series with the seriousness of the original comics, I thought Turtles Forever was great. Seeing Bebop and Rocksteady again was by far the highlight of the special.

While I don't think this is going to make the movie any good, The Ninja Turtles Movie keeps the title TEENAGE MUTANT Ninja Turtles and has been rewritten. Unfortunately by the same person that did Snow White and the Huntsman, and it hasn't been recast, leaving all the poor casting decisions in tact, including Mickey from Seinfeld (the short guy with a thick New York accent) as Splinter, instead of someone more Japanese sounding or without a cartoonishly goofy voice. Remember, he's the serious character.

I really wish they'd get rid of Megan "no one on Earth likes her except for the small amount of sex appeal, even then it's not even worth it" Fox as April O' Neil. Dude, it's CLEAR that April should have been Jane Leeves. That's a feisty red head action girl if ever I saw one.

I don't much care for the news I've been hearing about the reboot, least of all Megan Fox's casting. I heard Shia Lebouf was cast as Casey Jones at some point, but it sounded like too much of a bad joke to be true. Anway, nobody can play Casey Jones better than Elias Koteas. I'd love to see Chris Evans play Jones in live action, but obviously he's a bit preoccupied.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000480/?ref_=tt_cl_t9

The news that Mickey from Seinfeld was going to play Splinter did it for me. I could overlook all that other stuff... but he's not Splinter material.

But at least they're not going to be aliens like they originally were.

The film needs another rewrite and another recast. No reason Megan Fox should have a career.

If there's enough negative fan backlash like there was when Bay's original plan was revealed, maybe they'll scrap the project altogether and somebody better suited will pick it up. I don't think we'll be so lucky:sigh:. Bay might as well get it over with and cast Shia Lebouf as Donatello; you know he's going to slip Shia in there somewhere:shifty:.

And then Shea will complain about how terrible it is. I genuinely want to like Shea... after all, his was the only Disney Channel sitcom I actually enjoyed watching. But the actor just hasn't found his niche. He stars in these action films that get terrible reviews and then calls them out (though I'm one of the few people who didn't think he was that bad in Indiana Jones 4... frankly, I'm one of the few that actually liked it... I don't see why a sci-fi element is so much harder to believe than historical inaccuracy), there's some sort of film he should be doing, but for the life of him, he doesn't quite know.

But as I was saying much earlier, I think it would have been a better idea to have gone the Jimmy Neutron/Barnyard route and made a pilot movie, and had that be the big film comeback. I'm not opposed to any live action TMNT series running co-currently with the animated series (that's what the original cartoon and movies did), just make sure it's a good one.
