Subtle changes for muppets

Over the years, we have seen some changes in popular muppets like Ernie and Bert. I recall Ernie having a darker nose in the 1969- early 1970's seasons. From there we saw similar changes in Bert as well. Which look for Ernie and Bert do you prefer? I like the 1980's look for both Ernie and Bert. I saw Bert on a recent Sesame Street episode and I think his eyebrows look funny.
