I understand film companies forming movies around established properties, but some toys and games are just silly. The ViewMaster one has got to be the silliest. Stretch Armstrong...well, I can see it making for a popular kids film. Not one I'm excited about, but it does make marketing sense.
The only way a Viewmaster movie would work is if it was some I-Max feature that showed various scenery in 3-D. That's what a Viewmaster is all about. And of course, licensed characters... but other than that, there's NOTHING to do out there.
I dunno... but somehow it seems like someone took an unproduced Plastic Man movie script and just changed names. A Plastic Man movie would make a lot more sense, since everyone's rushing to get as many Super Hero Comic Book movies out there as possible, even if they're obscure. Plus, people under the age of 30 actually know who Plastic Man is. Difference between G.I.Joe and Transformers and this movie? People know who Transformers and G.I.Joe are. Stretch hasn't had a toy on the market since, probably the Bush Sr. (or at least the first Clinton) administration. And even then, it was decades before then when he came out. This isn't something you can waltz into Target and pick up.
