Heya,

Just outa curiousity, I wondered... where's the strangest place you've ever performed a puppet show? This summer I did a show at a women's prison for a carnival they had for inmates children. I couldn't imagine anything odder, but I'm sure they're out there...

so, it's not quite as bizarre as a women's prison, but i think the strangest place i've done a puppet show is at a local retirement home. there were about 20 old folks that attended. :boo: 1/2 of them were constantly talking to themselves during the show, and the other 1/2 were nodding off the whole time.

The strangest place for me to perform has occurred in two different locations..one was at a harvest festival outside behind boxes because I did not have my stage at the time so my friend and I threw one together..last minute deal thing(card board boxes, black duck tape, and long black cloth to throw over works for a puppet stage..easy tear down as well)..fun but it was at least 40 degrees outside...then I was in another festival, a not so halloween festival at a church...this too was outside but the stage was on the payment...both were the first time I had performed outside under 50 degrees and at night.I do recommend it but the people loved both shows so it was worth every chatter of the teeth and nearly frozen arm at the end(ok not really but you get the point).
