Not sure if this is a record for number of regular performers for a muppet character but it feels worth noting that Statler has now had 4 performers.
Richard Hunt (1976-1991)
Jerry Nelson (1992-2003)
Steve Whitmire (2002-2016)
Peter Linz (2017-present)
Peter Linz seems to be doing a fine job with the role but it's sorta funny to compare Statler's situation to a character like Gonzo who has had the same performer for the past 45 years. Also interesting that Richard Hunt still remains the person to have performed him the longest.
