Yes- it's on Youtube- I should know- I posted it!

This was something I found off a Star Wars web site that's pretty much defunct now I think... so check it out- it's in 4 parts and includes takes from the dailies- very cool!

C-3PO and R2-D2 appeared in two episodes in the 1979-1980 season. All the "Street" footage of one of those episodes has been put up on YouTube. It should still be there, though I wish I had the link on hand. (It comes from an unedited studio tape, so you see director's markers and hear the actors mumbling in the background)

A few of the scenes taped for those episodes were recycled for many years after that as inserts. The only one I remember seeing as a kid was the one where R2 falls in love with a fire hydrant :flirt: .

So for all the years after those original episodes aired, kids would see the re-used inserts with the Droids, without any explanation of what they were doing on Sesame Street---just like all the other unannounced celebrity cameos.

I wonder if Star Wars fans consider this canon in the SW universe.

Probably about as much as they consider Luke Skywalker's, C-3P0's, R2-D2's and Chewbacca's appearances on The Muppet Show as canon!

The sad thing is- technically, you have to take The Star Wars Holiday Special as canon!

Why? GL has publically shunned that horror, and he's the canon master!

btw, thanks for the links...

True- that's why I said technically. Technically- The Star Wars Holiday Special is still an official Star Wars production set in its own universe- not just a guest spot on another show (both children's shows as well with The Muppet Show and Sesame Street)

I just kinda meant that in fun anyway- it's a good thing to remind Star Wars fans of when they start bad-mouthing Star Trek: The Motion Picture! (which I enjoyed, by the way)
