What do you think? I'm with what many people are saying: it seems like a series based off of the Robot Chicken SW specials (like the fact they use the exact same people to voice the same characters). And it seems like the whole show would be a series of gags that are only funny because they're ironic in the continuity of the movies (i.e. The Death Star bit).

You're only half right... the series is done COMPLETELY by the Robot Chicken crew, especially Seth Green. But the main difference is, they plan to make it kid friendly. I like Robot Chicken to an extent, but all too often I find they ruin genuinely funny sketches with obligatory sex and drugs jokes that needn't be added at the end.

So far, I like what I see. It's a shame that you can tell any Star Wars project is going to be great when all Lucas does is fund the project. I haven't seen much of Clone Wars, but after a shaky start, the show just kept getting better to the point where they even redeemed Jar Jar Binks as a character! Let that statement sink in.

Also, I noticed that the comedy aspect of Star Wars randomly sprouted up recently. I'm seeing all these humor books like "How to Speak Wookie" and "Darth Vader and Son" as well as gag bobblehead figures with corny captions on them. Maybe Lucas finally got a sense of humor... but I recall he liked Spaceballs (as long as there was never any merchandising made).

No Spaceballs merchandising? Er, did he not catch the entire segment with Mel Brooks as Yogurt?
Moichandising! That's what it's about! We got Spaceballs the coloring book, Spaceballs the lunchbox, Spaceballs the cereal, Spaceballs the T-shirt, Spaceballs the video game, Spaceballs the frozen dessert snack, Spaceballs the action figures. Oh, I love this one.
Yogurt Pull-String Doll: May the Schwartz be with you.

Heck, the Spaceballs mothership is nothing more than a giant Transformer, Megamaid.
They probably snuck that one in from the meeting Tom Hanks sat in on in Big.

Thanks Ed. Now I really, REALLY have to see that movie again! Sooooo many wonderfully awful jokes. And Bill Pullman. And John Candy. And Rick Moranis...I'll just shut up now...

But yeah, this thing looks cute.

The one joke I think they must have been inspired to make based on The Muppet Movie is when the Storm Troopers are using these giant combs to comb the beach in search of Princess Vespa.

1-2-3-4-5? That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard, who uses that?
:batty: I have the same combination on my luggage.
