You know what this would work really well for? Patterning.

You could sculpt something out of foam or clay, put some sort of release agent on it, then spray on the fabric. Once dry, you could cut it off, make it lie flat, then make a pattern to then make the same shape out of fleece or fur or whatever.

I wonder if it would work?

I use masking tape for that,but good idea.
I would use it as the skin for a puppet if they did sell it
