Have you taken into consideration insurance needs?

I've done plenty of productions where it was a handshake and a "don't worry" and never had a problem. But in the long run, you want to protect your finished product. So a policy that would cover shipping, use of the puppet and catastrophic loss would be worth it, I think, when dealing with people you may never have met in person. If the agreement includes a stated limit to the value of the puppet in case it is lost or stolen, that would help too.

Just tossing out ideas.

That's actually a very GOOD idea. In my case, I'd find out what the replacement or purcahse cost of the puppet was and assure that if the puppet met with unfortunate circumstance (including being lost in the mail, destruction, etc.) that it would be completely covered by me.

But you're right... a formal agreement is probably the best idea. Its always the things that AREN'T said that cause problems, right?

Exactly. If you're working with friends, then no problems. It's when you start expanding your production circle that the paperwork gets thicker.

Good luck with it all! Sounds like fun!

Actually, I find that a clear understanding on paper keeps friends as friends!
