I know the complete (if not, semi-complete:big_grin:) history of Chuck E. Cheese's, and it IS creepy, 'cause I'm only 12.

To prove it, I'll ask you what you already know and improve upon it, because typing the complete history here is just bizarre:crazy:... plus I'm missing a few parts.

So what do you know about CEC?

Easy.

It was founded by Nolan Bushnell (sp?) in 1977 I believe. The original name was Chuck E. Cheese's Pizzza Time Theater. An interesting fact behind that is every few months or so (or every year) they would feature a "guest star", usually a female, that would sing along with Chuck, Jasper, Pasqually, and Mr. Munch. Such stars featured were Madame Oink, Foxy Colleen, and Harmony Howlette, among others. Helen would be the last female guest star, and would stay permantly, when CEC merged with it's rival Showbiz Pizza in the 1980's after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Another interesting fact was that Mr. Munch was not originally in the original PTT cast. He replaced Crusty the Cat in 1978.

Anywho, for some odd reason, Showbiz Pizza decided in 1990 to phase out THEIR OWN characters, which included the likes of Billy Bob, Looney Bird, Mitzi, Fatz, Dook, Beach Bear, Rolfe & Earl (a comedy duo) in favor of Chuck E. and pals. This era was known as Concept Unification & basically most stores which featured the Rock-afire Explosion (the name of the band) were renovated to be featured as Munch's Make Believe Band. That's right. Fatz was turned into Munch, Helen was originally the Mitzi bot, Pasqually was originally Dook, Jasper was Beach Bear, and Chuck was Rolfe.

Thus the current CEC. Well, that is until Studio C came into place, but that's ANOTHER story, which goes back as far as the Awsome Adventure Machine days.

I could go into a lot more detail, but that's how I see it in a nutshell.

:wisdom:

Ummm.... Uhhh... Wow. That is INCREDIBLE! You know, there is a forum for CEC, SPP, and PTT fans. I can't belong to it, as I'm under the under 15 years old limit.

Anywho, you forgot one major guest Sally Sashay, a disco skunk. Actually they didn't REALLY change guest stars, the stores were sent the guest's cosmetics, or bot costumes in CEC lingo, look it up, and retrofitted the female bot with new costumes every time.

Along with the cosmetics, stores got the new guest showtape, and a backdrop to match. PTT filed of Ch. 11 in 1984, probably because of their terrible 'brand new pizza', and in 1990 SHOWBIZ filed for bankruptcy and PTT bought Showbiz (Now CEC's on top instead of Billy Bob! Ha!).

CEC wanted to purchase the Rock-afire, but their creator Aaron Fetcher (FECK-ter) declined, probably because CEC was aimed at kids, and SPP was aimed at teens and adults, but kids came anyway to have fun, and didn't want the RAE ruined.

And what's WORSE, during the convertion, the showtape playing (The Rolfe and Earle Show. Doesn't Showbiz know Earl is NOT spelled with an extra E?) was just FAKE, that's right, FAKE voice actors, from the days when Showbiz recorded their OWN showtapes, as Rolfe and Earl coming out, with Rolfe dropping cheesy (as in Chuck E. Cheesy! Pun intended... Ha!) clues about the 'groovy' new changes at Showbiz. (Groovy? If you don't already know, Rolfe was the disco geek.)

And then they'd close the curtains and just show previous CyberStar clips, the tv monitor video addition, as the 'memories' they had. Rolfe and Earl were used just to introduce clips and announce they'll be right back. (Well, they take a break when the clips play, and they're bolted to the floor, what's the point anyway, right? Ha!) Instead of everyone saying goodbye, like the curtain call on the last episode of Full House, (Sad isn't it?) They just leave Rolfe and Earl to do it.

Next thing you know, instead of looking at Billy Bob, you end up looking at a 6-foot tall rat. Talk about dissapointment... Ha! Am I great or what? Ok, or what.... Sheesh!

If anyone ELSE knows something... PLEASE POST! IDK why I keep telling you! JK....
Besides... There is an official CEC & SPP wiki online: http://showbizpizza.wikia.com/wiki/ShowBiz_Pizza_Wiki

P.S. @SSLFan: Do you belong to the Showbiz Pizza Forum? Because you're a CEC EXPERT!(It's almost creepy.) Maybe we can discuss CEC in 1994-1998. Talk about a 'nose-dive' in entertainment quality.
