Hey all,

I'm in the middle of building a bunch of puppets for this web show I plan on doing, which will be a web industry-themed officeplace sitcom. I'm going a little overboard with the scope of the thing (11 or more puppets for the first episode, new puppets in every additional episode), but it's coming along nicely.

So far a lot of the puppets are using the Project Puppet patterns (which I recommend HIGHLY, both for easy to make, great looking puppet patterns, but also to give you the confidence to build your own, from scratch), but I'm working on some now that are my own designs.

You can check out my gallery here:

Enjoy!

(There will be a sock puppet in the show, but it won't be the one in the gallery; that one is playing nicely with my nephews)

Let me know what you think!

These are really beautiful! I especially love the puppet with the boxy head. Very cool design!

Hey great job!

I really like the balding guy with the moustache (he reminds me of my wife's uncle). At first look I thought the girl puppet was a guy with a moustache and a "lip beard", but now I see that they are her lips. What did you cover the puppets with? The fabric reminds me of this crushed velvet I have in my puppet shop.

Really good use of the project puppet pattern, and I what a great bit of insight. Sometimes all we need is the safety of a pattern to help us feel comfortable enough to try out our own patterns. Wonderful!

I love your puppets. Keep up the great work!

Thank you, everyone, for your compliments. I'm feeling pretty happy with what I've built so far, and it's great to get positive feedback on the puppets.

At some point I'll post my various in-progress photos, but that might be a while.

Blink: They're all covered in terry cloth. Well, the heads are in fur of varying kinds, but the people are all in terry cloth. It takes dye pretty well, which is nice.

As for the Kirstie puppet, they're more obvious as lips when her mouth is closed, or when she's talking.

I'm hoping to have the dragon puppet covered/almost done tonight. I'll add pictures of him if I do!

Thanks! By web show I mean that I'm going to be filming episodes and putting them online for people to watch. A tv show without the tv, essentially.

Though the picture is dark, my favorite is Amer, but I'm partial to cone heads. I really like the tiny pupils and the positioning of the eyes.

Thank you, I'm glad you like him. His hair looks out of place, but I like that. He's supposed to be fairly disheveled, and will be, once I make it, a t-shirt with a different slogan for every episode.
