Even if you aren't a dummy, sock puppets can be awesome. Check out Marty (one of the members of the puppet-band Uncle Monsterface) and his work...he takes the simple idea of sock puppets and really puts a neat spin on them. It's just fun to see that there is always a new spin to be put on old concepts...

I'm actually teaching my students John Kennedy's sock puppy right now. I have to say its my favorite pattern.

Also, Greg Williams made an amazing sock puppet, Mr Fabulous, but I can't find it anywhere online. He is indeed, fabulous.
