My favorite movie of the year was "Juno", which I've seen a whopping seven times now. It just makes me happy.

Pan's Labyrinth was also 2006, but it deserves all five of the stars you gave it!
I keep mixing the dates up, but it was a late release that I did see last spring.

I forgot Bean's Holiday too. It has good moments. Somehow he plays better on the small screen in shorter projects. Bean really is television - terrific television!

Maybe I'll bump Juno up the list.

2007 was kind of a slow movie year, huh? I can't think of any movies I actually went to see apart from ones from a month ago or less. In my opinion the best movie of 2007 was Enchanted and Id give that one 4 stars.

EDIT: Duh! Hairspray! Which gets 5/5 cos I absolutely adore it. Another movie I loved [can't remember if this was 2007 or 2006] is The Number 23, which I give 4 stars to

I'll give Transformers 3 1/2 stars. Overall, it was good, but we didn't get to see enough of the Transformers themselves! And the human characters were just so flawed and awful. Then again, as Optimus Prime says, there is hope for this young race.

Hello. I am new here to the Muppet Central Forums and I want to give my review of the movies I have seen in 2007. The movies listed here are not in the order I have seen them in, by the way.

1. Hairspray: 5 Stars! - The movie is just completely funny. The song lyrics are also funny as well. I also happen to know a lot of the Broadway musicals like Hairspray. And besides, its not often that you see a guy like John Travolta dress up as a really obese lady.

2. Ratatouille: 5 Stars! - The humor in that film is appropriate; there are no obscene jokes at all. I love how the film is introducing the audience in how they present what happens at a gourmet resturaunt like Gusteau's.

3. National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets: 4.5 Stars - I really had a tough time figuring out if I should give this movie either 4.5 or 5 stars. Either way, I enjoyed that movie. Near the end of the film, it makes you wonder if there is going to be a third National Treasure or not.

4. Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium: 4.5 Stars - I only saw that movie for two reasons. 1. Kermit was in it and 2. It seemed like a great movie to watch based on the trailer. The whole movie was great except there were some parts in the movie that didn't really make much sense. Take the ending for example; you'll see what I mean

5. Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End: 3.5 Stars. The whole movie didn't really seem like it was the closing gap for the POTC franchise. I was a bit disappointed when I saw that most of the minor characters - Elizabeth's father and Commodore Norrington - all die because they had no purpose in the story at all... and they were kind of my favorite characters. Even the Chinese guy who was introduced in this movie dies; he should have recieved more attention. But the biggest thing that made me angry was that Elizabeth and Will were technically married, but they had to not see each other every ten years and that their son never really knew his father all that much (You'll get it once you see it if you haven't)

6. Alvin and the Chipmunks: 2.5 Stars. Honestly, I never really seen that film, but judging by the trailer, it was both funny and stupid. Funny that the Chipmunks were singing songs like "Funkytown" and "Don't You Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me?", but it was stupid because I think the plot is a little weak.

Movies I Kind of Want to See, But Not Really:
Sweeney Todd - I like the music; it really does draw you in, but a little too dark for me
Prince Caspian - I didn't see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, but you don't really need to see it unless you haven't seen the first one like I did
Juno - Everyone is talking about it at school, but I just see it as another comedy that acts like it's a drama, kind of like Ugly Betty

There maybe more movies I have forgotten; I will let you know.

Filling in the previous gaps:

4.25/B+
Sweeney Todd - fantastic, could use slight tightening, but I loved it

3.5/B-
Shoot 'Em Up - stylish guilty pleasure, I couldn't tear my eyes away

3.25/C+

Beowulf - beautiful achievement, felt long, stiff facial capture, why all CG?

2.75/C
National Treasure: Book of Secrets - not as good as original guilty pleasure

I honestly think Zemekis has gone power mad with Beowulf. The Polar Express corpse children creeped me out. The technology is better here, but still not great when it comes to facial expressions. It takes me out of the movie. He should have had the animators work some extra magic in post production. The only reason that all of it (including the people) was CG was to fuel a technology that's got a way to go.

Did Burton or the studio think that Todd would do well at Christmas time? It practically came out on Christmas day! This so should have been an October release. Such a hodgepodge of ideas and styles, beautiful as it turned out, is a hard sell to audiences. Tragic timing!

Shoot 'em Up was just plain misogynistic fun. I couldn't help but love this action cheese flick even if people stayed away. Every once in a while I just like something like this that I probably shouldn't. I can't help but admit that I enjoyed this film!

Is it me or is Nick Cage's hair looking creepier and creepier? He should just do what Bruce Willis did and shave it off. Treasure 2 was okay but missed the fun of the first film (no classic either). But this one did have the Queen. He he.

Are you serious? This was a very blockbuster year. I can't even remember smaller films that tanked. I mean, yeah. most of the films were sequals (Threequals at that), but it was a very competitive month of may, with Pirates 3, Spidey 3, and Shrek 3. Of course, other than Shrek 3 (which I can vouche for) I only heard negative things about those other two. Shrek 3, I can vouche for the negativity. Seriously. If they waited a little longer and the script went through a couple more rewrites, it could have been better. I enjoyed it, but it was pretty boring compaired to the first two.
