I couldn't help but notice that such movies as TMM, GMC, MCC, and MTI have all been re-released on DVD by Disney, and all have the new Disney "Muppet Studios" logos on the movies... except MTI, which all retain the original Tri-Star logos on the movie, and the DVD is said to be released by Jim Henson Home Entertainment.

Somehow that just strikes me odd, considering Disney owns the Muppets right now, was there some kind of loophole that prevented them from purchasing MTM? Not that I'm complaining, I'm just curious.

Legally, yes. They do. But distribution rights are still held by Tri-Star. Same situation with MFS. Both movies were released and produced by Sony with Henson and Disney now owns Henson's share of both movies while Sony still has distribution rights.
