I was browsing and I found this thread from last summer. I think it's wonderful that a former Muppeteer posted on this board. Also it does clear up a lot of confusion about Snuffy. Now I know the facts. Jerry did the voice and front end of Snuffy from 1971-1977, until he hurt his back and Richard Hunt took over for the 1977-1978 Season, while Jerry dubbed in the voice. Michael Earl Davis joined the crew in 1978 but like Richard only was inside the costume while Jerry dubbed the voice. Jerry must have quit after the 1978-79 season and then from 1979-1981 Michael Earl Davis both performed Snuffy, and supplied the voice. This does clear up a lot of confusion for me, since I remember on Sesame Street Unpaved episode 1575, which was the final episode for the 12th season, and also the last episode where Michael Earl Davis performed Snuffy. If anyone has this episode, you'll notice Snuffy sounds nothing like Jerry, or Marty's Snuffy. So if you want to see Michael Earl's Snuffy, well that's him. It seems as though Martin P. Robbinson took over the role of Snuffy in 1981. Thank you very much Mr. Davis for clearing this info on Snuffy up. Now we know there was 3 different Snuffy's and 4 different people have performed him.
